What is in my bag (with toddler)?
On short trips, I don't carry much in my handbag- just one diaper, wet wipes, waterbottle, one box of raisins, my wallet, keys and mobile. so that I doesn't have to deep dig into my handbag at store's bill counters to embarrass myself and make people wait behind me.
But for long trips, I've been carrying this Lavie big peach bag in which I can organize the things neatly.
It have big compartment, and the compartment do have small pockets inside it.
See how I fill it up while travelling
The big compartment is enough for my and my daughter's essentials. I love that this purse holds its shape, steady, doesn't fall over and has enough room to actually organize things within smaller bags inside. Sometimes it weighs so much that I get a workout from carrying it! :)
The random items in my purse vary on daily basis, but often I carry:
- Some snacks, which she love to munch.
- Water bottle: I always carry a water bottle with me no matter where we go.
- A comb/hairbrush
- Wet tissues
- Dry Tissues
- Diaper: Although she is not on diaper any more, this one is for in case of emergency.
- Disposable diaper bags
- Moisturiser
- Bandaid
- Crocin
- A fresh pair of clothes
- Handkerchief
- Some Cosmetics: For me ofcourse ;)
- Notebook and Pen: She loves to scribble and she can do this for hours, of course depend on her mood.
- Wallet
- Hair Pins
- Vaseline/Boroline
- Hand Towel
- Some extra Cash
So, that’s a sneak peak inside my handbag.
I don’t carry everything here with me everyday but this is everything I would take if I was heading out for the entire day.

Review: Mothercare All We Know Baby Shampoo
Today, I am going to review a shampoo which I have been using on my daughter's scalp since 2 years. Mothercare do have a wide variety of kid's range, you name it with the baby toiletries, apparel, accessories to shoes. You will get all the utility products under one roof.My daughter is using this shampoo since 3 years and she is really enjoying it.
The mothercare all we know baby shampoo comes in a 300ml transparent plastic bottle with a press cap. The shampoo is hypoallergenic, dermatologically and midwife tested. The product contains olive oil, nature’s ultimate moisturiser, and chamomile which have great soothing qualities and also it is 'PARABENS FREE', which makes it more suitable for newborns. The fragnance of the shampoo is very light which gets away as the hairs get dry up. After using it, the hair becomes really shiny and smooth. It does not leave any residue.
Texture:
Clear gel type texture.
Usage:
I shampoo my daughter's scalp twice a week. The pea size drop is enough to create lather on her hairs. It gets spread easily on scalp and also get rinse off without leaving any residue.
What it Claims:
The mild formulation with conditioner cleanses the scalp and leaves hair naturally clean and shiny. - Yes it do exactly the same.
Ingredients:
MRP:
Rs. 299/-
What I like it about this product:
1) Parabens free
2) Very mild
3) Light fragrance
4) Tear free
5) Leaves no residue
6) Hairs become shiny and smooth
7) Dermatologically and midwife tested
What I do not like about this product:
1) Only available in mothercare or shopperstop showrooms. Like other brands, you can not find it in general or medical store.
2) As it only available in 300 ml bottle, that is why I am afraid to say that it is not travel friendly. When I am going to a short trip, I need to pour the shampoo in small bottle.
Do I buy it again:
Sure I will do.

Awkward Moments for a Mom
So DD is now 2.6 years old. She is independent and talkative girl who wants to explore the world all alone.
In this process there happens a lot of moments where I felt like OH GOD!!
So here are some glimpse:
1) GOSH Moment
Its my birthday, hubby came early from the office to take me out for dinner. me getting ready with my best attire and with loads of makeup. Admiring myself in front of mirror. Soon my DD came and said, momma i did it please cleanup it up. GOSH!!!
2) I am sorry Moment
So we were sitting in a restaurant, people there eating quietly. All of the sudden you see lots of eyes on your table, its because my DD start playing drum with knife and fork, and its making horrible noises. Sorry Guys, can't help it.
3) No Sharing Moment
I organized a get together for kids and their respective moms at my home. Give a thought of having lots of fun and activities. So I take out all her toys so that kids can make themselves comfortable and enjoy the toys. Here my DD started tantrums and do not want to share a single toy with her friends. Mumma they all are mine. I don't want to share. Please!!! Give me a break, you are spoiling the party.
4) We don't want these stuffs Moment
Went for shopping, I am looking for the things that were in my shopping list and there my DD doing her own shopping, putting nonsense stuff in cart and hubby taking them out when she was not around. After shopping done, we went to cashier, sort out all the nonsense stuff from the cart, it almost took 10 minutes and ask the cashier please take them away, we don't need these. URGGGHH!!!
5) Who did this Moment
Me and DD went to neighbour place, neighbour's kid fart so loudly. And my DD questionnaire round starts over , Mumma what sound is this? Who make it? Why this happened? Give me a break baby.
6) Workaholic Moment
I went for shopping with my friend. She needs to buy shoes, so we went to some showroom. The salesman there was showing us the shoes and there my DD start her work, Mumma, is this good? is it of your size? Within few minutes, half of showroom' s shoes in display were on floor. Thank God we bought shoes from there only. Stop it baby, its not your job.

What my DD watch on TV?
As every toddler, my DD also want to get engaged with something all the time. She is in the age where she is very keen to collect informations from the whatever source she come across. Be it TV, Me, School, Friends or other surroundings.
She always want to be informative. So it is important whatever she gains should be correct and appropriate for her age.
That is why, I always keep an eye on what she is watching and what information she is getting from a TV show?
Following are the channels which my DD watch occasionally:
1) BabyTV
I love this channel. It is very clean, not too informative but has lots of songs, bright colours, no adverts, aimed at babies. The channel is entertaining but not so informative for babies.
My DD love to watch

2) zeeq
India's first edutainment channel for kids. It is the best destination for kids to learn while having fun, what they claim of, and its really true.
There are only two ot three programs for toddlers but the quality are really good, clean and very much informative.
I always put ON this channel when my DD is having her meals as she is very fuzzy eater but while watching her favorite TV shows she eats well.
My DD love to watch

3) Nick Jr.
This channel has lots of programs to watch. Its programs are informative and help child to remember the things. Like in Dora Series, Dora repeatedly ask, now where we want to go? Please repeat the number with us etc. and my DD really obeys her and I feel good when she remember the things. Its something like the Memory Game.
The shows she watch
4) Disney Jr
Full on entertainment. Everyone's favorite cartoon shows are here - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Winnie the Pooh etc.
I love this channel and watch shows with her especially Mickey Mouse Clubhouse which is entertaining, colorful and somehow lil bit informative. I am also big fan of Handy Manny but my DD is not much into it. I think she is not in the age to understand Handy Manny show.
I have read many articles which says, TV is not recommended for children under the age of 2. But I personally feel, TV is entertaining and informative, if watched for limited period and under proper guidance.
TV time should be limited for everyone be it for babies, teens or adults. That is why, I always keep in mind
My DD learn lots of new words from the TV shows. Although, I always keep an eye on her or watch shows with her. Sometimes, I explain the things to her so that she can understand the story clearly. Now a days, she started asking me lots of questions and started making stories by herself.
So no doubt about it — Sometimes, TV can be an excellent educator and entertainer.

- The time limit to watch TV, also applicable for me too.
- Pay attention what she is watching.
- Always encourage her to watch educational shows.
- Avoid violent shows
- Always make sure that TV does not replace outdoor activities, playing with friends, toys and games, homework, family interaction etc.

First Aid Kit for your Kids
As a mother of 2 years old, I went through numbers of times with stuffy noses, stomach upsets,
and all sorts of bumps and bruises.
I believe every home should have a well-stocked first aid kit ready for kids.
The essentials required in the kit:
1) Band-aid
Buy them in a variety of sizes for minor cuts, blisters and sore spots.
2) Bandages
Crepe bandages are useful for support or holding a dressing in place.
3) Cotton balls
4) Antiseptic Lotion
Lotion to clean cuts and grazes and help prevent infection. To use them, take a cotton ball and clean the wound, gently working away from the centre to remove dirt and germs.
5) Thermometer
I have digital thermometer, I always use it under her armpit to measure her body temparature.
6) Antiseptic cream
Apply antiseptic to cuts, grazes or minor burns after cleaning to help prevent infection.
7) Pain Killer
I use crocin which is a pain reliever and fever reducer.
8) Measuring Spoon
To measure the unit of medicine.
9) Saline drops
Saline drops to loosen mucus in a stuffy nose. My pediatricin prescribe Otrivin for my daughter. It really works for her. Although I do not rely too much on medicine, I always prefer home remedies.
10) A basic first aid manual
11) A list of emergency phone numbers
*Never give an infant under 2 years old any medication without doctor prescription.
